PLAY - short animated film

Recently nominated in the Boston Film Festival, PLAY follows a young girl who struggles to make friends at school. To escape her loneliness, she discovers stop-motion animation and begins creating short films on a flip phone by pressing pause and play with her toys. She soon realizes that the more time she spends making films, the more isolated she becomes. Through a dream sequence, she confronts the frightening possibility of connecting with others and bravely decides to show her films to the other children on the playground. In the final scene, several of the children begin making films with her, transforming an isolated hobby into a collaborative experience.
